Victoria Open Golf Society
A welcome from our President
Dear valued sponsor:
On behalf of the board of directors of the Victoria Open Golf Society, and all of our volunteers and supporters, I want to thank you for your contribution to making professional golf happen in Victoria.
This is the 45th year since Dave Barr won our first tournament at Glen Meadows in 1981. We are now the oldest tournament on the PGA TOUR Canada, and we have our sponsors and our many volunteers to thank for that achievement.
You all know the tremendous legacy of the Victoria Open, allowing players such as Mike Weir, Steve Stricker, Adam Hadwin, Nick Taylor, McKenzie Hughes, Neil Shipley and many more to get their first taste of professional championship competition. But you may not be aware that your support has also allowed us to make meaningful contributions to charities in our community, with almost a million dollars in the last two years going to Easter Seals for Camp Shawnigan.
Camp Shawnigan provides a vital service to families of children with disabilities on Vancouver Island and around British Columbia. Its current $30 million capital plan will improve its offerings and make sure that children with disabilities and their families will have access to this experience for years to come.
We are very excited to welcome back a previous title sponsor this year with the Digital Commerce Group. Jeff Smith, the founder and CEO, was first involved with our tournament in the 1980s when we were Payless Open, and as one of Victoria’s most prominent success stories, we are proud to associate ourselves with him and his companies. Jeff’s continuing commitment to the community he grew up in is a testament to his values, and the values of his company.
Thanks to Digital Commerce Group and all of our sponsors, we have been able to step up some of our offerings this year. In addition to our VIP hospitality deck for sponsors, and the BBQ tent by the putting green, there is also a new VIP Tent on 19 which offers premium seating, and food and beverage. We are hoping to add more activations on the course in future years to continue to enhance the spectator experience.
As a final note, I want to add a special thanks to the more than 250 volunteers who make this event possible. I also want to recognise our proud partners, the Times Colonist, Andrew Sheret, and Island Eyecare, for providing major support to our tournament.
Finally, I want to thank our host, the Uplands Golf Club, which expends great effort to provide a course in spectacular condition that is truly one of the premier courses in Canada.
PGA TOUR Americas
Welcome to PGA TOUR Americas
PGA TOUR Americas is a showcase of the sport’s best up-and-coming players, and I’m excited for you to be part of our 2026 season and experience what makes this tour great.
This week is part of a 15-event schedule that concludes in October at the Dominican Republic Tour Championship presented by Scotiabank, where the top 10 players on the season-long points list will earn their Korn Ferry Tour cards for 2027.
The first two PGA TOUR Americas season champions—Johnny Keefer in 2024 and Michael Brennan in 2025—have worked their way up to the PGA TOUR this season, and it won’t be long until they are joined by players competing here this week.
Keefer and Brennan are part of a long list of PGA TOUR members who played on our tours, including Nick Taylor, Corey Conners, Adam Hadwin, Jake Knapp, Joel Dahmen, Nico Echavarria and major winner J.J. Spaun.
PGA TOUR Americas has consistently prepared future stars of the PGA TOUR, and I’m confident there are future PGA TOUR winners walking the fairways this week.
Thank you for supporting PGA TOUR Americas, and I hope you enjoy some world-class golf while making great memories with friends and family.

A welcome from Times Colonist
The Digital Commerce Group Open is one of the most important events on Vancouver Island’s sports calendar this year, and the Times Colonist is proud to once again be part of the tournament.
We have supported the tournament every year since it began in 1981, and we will continue to support it for many years to come. Events such as this are vital to our community, because they add to the richness of life here.
The golf tournament gives you a chance to see some of the finest young golfers in the world on a course in your back yard. Many of you have played Uplands, and many of you will know exactly how you would play the course – if only you were as skilled as the golfers who are working hard for their shot at the PGA Tour itself.
The Digital Commerce Group Open draws support for several dozen local companies, all determined to ensure that the PGA Tour Americas tournament is a big success. Make a note of the names of those sponsors and consider supporting them the way that they support the community.
That’s for later. Right now, enjoy the Pro-Am, if you are playing in it. Take in the experience at Uplands. Take the once-a-year chance to see some of the finest golfers in the Americas.
Welcome to all of you!
